Hello, my name is Olex Barnes, the founder and main person behind Lenscraft Media,

I have been working as a photographer since 2011, having completed a degree in Film and Digital Media from Deakin University in Melbourne in 2010.

My early career was working as a lighting technician in a TV studio in Melbourne, the skills I learned of teamwork, communication and punctuality I still use to this day.

I started my photography career as a music photographer covering many of the bands that inhabit the Wellington Music scene. Here I honed my skills at being able to capture the perfect moment in challenging conditions.

Between 2013 and 2016 I worked as a photojournalist for the now defunct photo agency “Demotix”, where my work was picked up and published in many newspapers around the world including The Guardian in the UK.

In 2016 I returned to my roots producing videos and offering it as a service. During the year I produced and created two music videos and a short running YouTube channel.

I have a great passion for all types of photography, whether it is wedding photography, wildlife, landscape or trying to recreate historic photographic techniques.
